Hungry
Pho Sho
Tired of the greasy fast food Chinese place you always go to when its test time? You’ve had luck with it in the past, but the last time you ordered it they delivered lo mein instead of the pork fried rice you were craving. Well enough is enough, it’s time to throw out those low class Chinese restaurant menus and time to expand your Asian Cuisine palette. Vietnamese is one of the most filling and lightest and delicious ethnic foods you could want. My favorite dish to get at a Vietnamese restaurant is Pho Bo. It’s a simple soup that consists of beef broth with thinly sliced sirloin, bean spouts, basil and rice noodle. There’s also the Pho Ga, which is the same concept but with chicken. If you are more of a tofu kind of person, then I would recommend the Pho Chay. In the Pho Chay, they use chicken broth instead of beef.
The best places I have found Pho are all located in the Hartford County. Pho Boston, year after year has been considered one of the best Vietnamese places in Connecticut, serves the best Pho I have ever had. It’s inexpensive at $6.95 for an extra large serving. Pho Boston’s signature soup, named Pho Boston is located on 144 Shield St. West Hartford, CT. Don’t restrict yourself to just the Pho. Their clay pot dishes are to die for! The grilled pork clay pot is my favorite. The meat is so tender and flavorful that it would put any boneless BBQ spareribs you get at a Chinese restaurant to shame.
Another good Pho place is Restaurant 207 on Park Ave in West Hartford. It’s a small family owned restaurant and very inexpensive. It’s about 6 dollars for an entire meal. What more would you want from a great place? Finally, to get rid of any hangover, try and find a Pho place, Pho is the best hangover food you could wish for.
